RetroAchievements
RetroAchievements adds achievements to retro games — a community-built set for thousands of titles, checked as you play. RetroXR signs in to your account and unlocks them in the headset.
New in v0.3.0.
Signing in
Section titled “Signing in”Accounts are free at retroachievements.org.
- Open the menu and go to
OPTIONS. - Pick the RetroAchievements tab.
- Enter your username and password.
What you get
Section titled “What you get”- Unlocks as you play, with a toast and the achievement’s badge.
- Rich presence — your profile shows what you are playing.
- Browse a game’s achievements without launching it, from the game’s own page in the menu.
Seeing a game’s achievements
Section titled “Seeing a game’s achievements”Open SPAWN → Cartridges, find the game, and press the list icon on its row. The
page has two tabs:
② is the achievements list. You can read what a game asks of you before deciding to start it — which is the point of having it here rather than only in a toast mid-game.
① is that game’s saves.
Hardcore mode
Section titled “Hardcore mode”Not supported yet. RetroAchievements requires a project to have existed for six months before it can enable hardcore, so this is a matter of waiting rather than of work.
What works and what does not
Section titled “What works and what does not”Achievement support depends on the core and the game, exactly as it does in any other RetroAchievements-capable frontend. A system whose core does not support it will never report anything, and that is not a RetroXR fault.
If a game you expect to have achievements is not unlocking any, check that the core you have set as default for that system supports them — see downloading and managing cores.
